          In this class we celebrate practicing together (safely with physical distancing and good hygiene) to support our place in the natural world as we move into our summer bodies. Lots of variations offered but best not for folks who are bran new to yoga.

 

       

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is the bran spankin new Yoga Farm, creatively put together by Beth Umba and her family to accommodate summer time yoga and all kinds of fun stuff. Facilities are rustic (use the very clean and tidy horse stalls or a la natural). In my class the deck will accommodate 12 students with more on the lawn surrounding the deck. Register early to get a spot under the tent.

Descriptions

Beginning Yoga

For people who are new to yoga or could benefit from a slow methodical review of the fundamentals of yoga.  We build poses slowly from week to week with basic yoga philosophy of the Yamas and Niyamas as a foundation. No experience is necessary. 

 

Level 1

Ideal for beginners who are ready to expand their repertoire of poses. Each class begins with a long warm up. Basic poses and simple breathing practices are taught with methodical alignment and body awareness. A theme from yoga philosophy is threaded through the class.  

 

Level 2

Students are well versed in standing poses, basic seated poses and back bends and are ready to explore inversions, more vigorous posture flow sequences and longer holds.  Pranayama (breathing control) is integrated into the practice and students are encouraged to practice on their own. 

 

For all classes-students are asked to share their medical history for consideration for practice. Use of yoga props is encouraged.  Props are provided.
